Shuhari part 3 — 10 inspirational people that reached Heart of Agile’s Kokoro
Simple with an infinite number of shades
Simple with an infinite number of shades
Here are 10 Kokoro quotes from magnificent people that made their Shuhari journey and reached the essence of their field. They reached the point where they solidly grasp the basics, with an infinite number of shades (as Alistair Cockburn, creator of Heart of Agile, puts it).
Steve Jobs — That’s been one of my mantras — focus and simplicity. Simple can be harder than complex: You have to work hard to get your thinking clean to make it simple. But it’s worth it in the end because once you get there, you can move mountains.
Nelson Mandela — It always seems impossible until it’s done.
Michael Jordan — Obstacles don’t have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don’t turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it.
Albert Einstein — Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving.
Johan Cruijff — Football is simple, but it is difficult to play simple.
Leonardo da Vinci — Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.
Confucius — Real knowledge is to know the extent of one’s ignorance.
Taiichi Ohno, founding father of the Toyota Production System (TPS) — Progress cannot be generated when we are satisfied with existing situations.
Muhammad Ali — It isn’t the mountains ahead to climb that wear you out; it’s the pebble in your shoe.
Mahatma Gandhi — You must not lose faith in humanity. Humanity is an ocean; if a few drops of the ocean are dirty, the ocean does not become dirty.
Gautama Buddha — Peace comes from within. Do not seek it without.
Heart of Agile’s “Kokoro” is a state you will reach at the end of your Shuhari journey. Kokoro is about having a fundamental understanding of the basics, returning to “simple”.
